We’re pleased to announce that the school board named Dr. Sean Alford as the District’s new superintendent at the special called board meeting held on June 30th at the District office. Dr. Alford comes to Aiken County with two decades of administrative experience in South Carolina’s public schools. He is currently an Assistant Superintendent in Dorchester School District Two in Summerville, South Carolina.

Aiken Middle School Purpose and Direction

Purpose Statement: The purpose of Aiken Middle School is to educate students to be successful, self-sufficient seekers of new knowledge and citizens who are actively engaged in their community and the world.

 Purpose: AAll students will be given the opportunity to achieve success at their highest level.

  • All educators will promote student engagement in the classroom in order for students to become invested learners who take ownership of their actions.
  • The needs of all students will be met through differentiated instruction to ensure achievement, motivation, and success.

 


Summer School Information
On Thursday, May 28, 2015, letters were sent home to students who are in danger of failing to meet the promotion requirements for Aiken County Public Schools. This letter explains the Summer School Content Recovery program and the requirements for being promoted to the next grade. Please ask your student if he or she received this letter. A copy is included in the links below. There is also a link for the Summer School Content Recovery program. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the school.

2015-2016 Registration
Registration for the 2015-2016 school year will be held at Aiken Middle School on Tuesday, August 4, 2015, from noon 'til 6:00 pm. For more information, please click on the link below.

Comprehensive Health Education
In accordance with the South Carolina Comprehensive Health Education Act of 1988 (section 59-32-30), all students in grades 6th, 7th, and 8th must be provided instruction in Human Reproduction and Development.  Your child will begin this unit of instruction on May 29, 2015. Parents have the right, if desired, to exempt their child from this unit.  To exempt your child from this unit please complete and sign the opt-out form from the link below and return to your school by May 29, 2015.
